Moving house, literally

Go away annoying Chinese spammers, urgh!

My Saturday night plan was to get my assignment done but ended up here and got distracted by this...

Counting down 14 more days and Urbanscape -an annual user-generated all day creative art festival (wow, that’s a mouthful) is hitting down to KLpac! Yay :) Guess this is one of those rare local artspheres where Malaysians actually pay to go! This year Urbanscape program lineup is looking rather less as compared to last year. But so far, Urbanscape has yet disappoints me.

I and the boys (Roy and Fong) went pretty excited over this whole Project Angkat Rumah on this coming weekends! It was literally moving a house, yes, a specially designed wooden house with zinc roof and bright colours! This novelty concept is initiated by our very local filmmaker, Liew Siew Tat from DaHuangPictures who wants to revive the local village spirit of gotong royong in us the urbanites.

The whole procession is very much simple and straightforward. Member of public are invited to join them to either assist in carrying the house, or join in the festivities by walking along and cheerleading. The distance is only about 1.3km, from Jalan Ipoh to KLpac. Marching bands and kompang troupe are marking their way there too, so it will definitely be a massive house walking project, in gotong royong style of course! And followed by a kenduri in KLpac. Later in the afternoon, the house then will be converted into an open stage for hidden gems and closet performers. How cool is that?

In celebration with our coming National Day, the house-moving process will actually be filmed as 1Malaysia moment.

For now, I better pump up more irons ;)
