Day 1
we took a flight from PDX to deaver and then transit to orlando, florida! then, we checked in to best western hotel. we have this awesome pizza social and ice breaking games in the ballroom. it was really crazy, just try to imagine all the young people who were energetic like me and you who came from all over the world ( almost all over the world) gather around and what do you get?? yea, lots of laughters and screamings. most of the time we are screaming!!! there were only 3 malaysians there, ma , jillian and nazreen!!! we make malaysia proud, baby!!!
Day 2
we had this main conferance, breakout sessions, and half day at disney theme park. oh well, not exactly half day. we had the main address of the day " the world today -the family of adam and eve", " the importance of crossing the divide" and also " the reality if our world today : how ignorance and stereotypes cause conflicts and failure" yup, all the serious issues and im really proud of myself coz i bring out the participation attitude in me, and speak out my mind. personally, after coming to here, im trained to voice out my opinions coz teengers here are not afraid to speak up and is different from malaysia. personally, i think most malaysian teens are afraid to embarass themselves, afraid to ask and less critical minded. no offence k!!! :*) then we spent the late evening at the disney world.
Day 3
we had this interfaith program where we went to visit a mosque, synagogue and church. it was really interesting to visit a synagogue since i never been to one. although i had been to a mosque in putrajaya. after that, we had this panel discussion at rollins college. personally, it was kind of boring. maybe because i was so tired and wasnt really paying attention. but dont worry, i din get caught of sleeping. c'mon, i dont want to embarass myself and of coz, malaysia!!! after that, we went to magic kingdom theme park in disney world.
Day 4
its the leadership and millenium programs at disney!! personally i think its the best program in the whole conferance!! we learnt leadership skills by taking rides in disney world!! i never thought it can be fun and educational at the same time. then we met the director of disney world, it was great coz we are learning from the expert!! after that, we all dressed up for the banquet. next it was the shopping time!!! i spent 110++USD on the souvenirs alone. i have never spend so much in my 18 years life!!!
Day 5
we have wrap up and post conferance follow up. then, we checked out and had photo taking seesion. a new freindship has formed!
in the nutshell
it was indeed an inspiring and powerful experience for me. i mean c'mon, it was once a lifetime experience!!! where else i can get the opportunity to meet all the people from over the world??!! the main highlight of the whole conferance is not about goin to disney world, ok, maybe part of it (honestly, we dont really have time to try out all the rides). but as for me, it was about meeting people!! i tell ya, people are interesting creatures. it has indeed broaden my horizon and see things in their perspectives coz i gotta meet people from iraq, afghanistan, lebonon. and it has make me realise how ignorant i am!!! can u imagine that!!! and some countries i even have problems pronoucing their names like uzbekistan and kazakhstan. oh ya, sejarah is not an useless subject!!!! i thanked god that i studyed islamic sejarah back in form5. if not, i will have no idea what is goin on during the visiting to the mosque. i will make a fool of myself and makes me look dump and stupid youth ambassador of malaysia!! *bleuk* let me end with this quote, correction : my favourite quote!! "life is a drawing without eraser!"
*dare to dream, coz dreams really come true!! imaginary = imagination + engineering! this is wat disney all about!! thx disney!
last but not least, xin nian kuai le to all!!! i have food anthropology test tomorrow, sigh.
p/s : i will post up the photos later!!
