Hello 19, goodbye 18

18 has been an awesome year for me, fair to say that it is the best year in my entire life SO FAR. 18 is when I made tons of discoveries. 18 is when I tasted my real freedom. 18 is when I dare to step out of the norm.

Time has never been lenient to us. I guess I’m growing older, ahem, wiser I mean *grin* Personally, the age of 19 is like standing an intersection between becoming a girl and woman. Technically womanhood begins at the age of 18. For me, real womanhood kicks off at the age of 20. ( not that I’m not a woman now lah…)

The thought of getting older freaks me off sometimes. But still, I’m looking forward to what 19 has offers me. After all, this is going to be my last teen year *wink*

Jarum Halus

On last Thursday, I got free VIP passes to watch Jarum halus with Juwita Suwito, Christien New and gang. Hey, opportunity like this doesn’t come often ok? I’m not a movie critic but I think this movie is more like a test and trial. Jarum Halus is based on Shakespeare play Othello. This movie depicts jealousy, hatred and betrayal between the characters. Yes, dramatic it is. What can you expect from Shakespeare’s tale? In my opinion, the plot is a bit dragging. Sometimes it can be so unrealistic that I can’t really relate to real lives. But bear in mind, this is a literature. On the other hand, I like the fact it gives audience the room to interpret in their own ways rather than giving them a solid and constructive ending. See for own if you want to know more *wink* It has lots of little details too that most of us might overlooked since we usually focusing on the big picture. Thanks to Christien New for explaining and then only I realized how much effort has put on this movie. Speaking of acting, hats off to Razif Hashim where he carried out his character really well. You will eventually coming out of the cinema saying, “aiyo, he’s so bad la, so evil looking, so eerie…” While Christien New who is still new and fresh in acting scene, has room for improvement. One thing for sure, 21 years old director Mark Tan who is new kid from the block, has taken a brave attempt especially in the local scene.

Only with the finest needle, can you create the illusion that each piece of fabric was one. Only with the finest needle can you convince people that the seams do not exist. - Jarum Halus

(At least better than cloverfield la.. don’t get me started on how sucks the movie is. It gave me motion sickness)

Shooting with Hannah Tan!

Hannah Tan came to my college for shooting session for a telemovie entitled Jacket Izzac, will be screening at Astro Ria if I’m not mistaken. Remember the cute guy who is starring in the series KAMI? Yeap, he’s portraying the main character of Izzac.(he’s from Help by the way, yet I didn’t know his name. Pathetic) Anyway, they were looking for extras and Human Comm class was honored to be part of this project. I was sitting beside Hannah Tan at a particular scene so look out for me! Jokes aside, I tell ya Hannah Tan is one sweetie pie and genuine person! Nope, I don’t get paid. Yes, hopefully someone spot my talent (hahaha…do you hear me, producers and directors?) Hey, my first paid job was commercial shooting with Sony Ericsson! See, I told you, potential!

sulingee!!!
Spending time with my best bestie has always been very therapeutic. Her presence is like filling peppermint choc, rainbows and stars in my life. Neither of us feels intimidated with each other presence, nor feels insecure with each other absence. You know how friendship can be fall apart when they don’t see each other often? We have been bestie for 6 years now. Sometimes we don’t get to meet each other for months, sometimes without exchanging words for weeks. But still, the connection between us has never been distance. Both of us share the same faith and trust. And little things like faith and trust can go a long way.

Looks like its good head start for me :) but I don’t mind with a little bumps and bruises.
